My international research on violence among individuals not only assesses its impact on individual and community behavior but also considers the effectiveness of criminal justice and developmental programs in the long term. As the co-founder of Stop Global Violence, our work directly explores the consequences of wars, violent conflicts, and traumatic international events, fostering a sense of community engagement.

Consulting Services

Leveraging experience, university, think tank and NGO connections to conduct meaningful research across the RIO that make an IMPACT.

I also provide ad hoc consulting services with RIO Group, LLC. Criminological and sociological theories and general social science research methods (qualitative, quantitative, mixed methods) are applied to to a wide range of research interests, with a special expertise in conducting research in international contexts (past the Rio Grande). To date, I have led research teams and conducted independent consulting work in countries in Guatemala, the United States, Ukraine, and the International Police Science Association. RIO provides consultation in the following sample areas:

  • Migration (International, Internal Displacement, and Refugees)

  • Workplace Violence (Violence Against Journalists)

  • Police-Citizen Relations
